Aim: Retention and growth

This project involved a scale-up in the cybersecurity space, featuring numerous large corporate contracts and a strong fan base within the engineering community. Key part of their growth strategy was the planned launch of a new platform for secure coding practice, aimed at both expanding existing contracts and securing new ones with a broader scope. The new product was partially attempting to address the low contract renewal rates, which was attributed to the high user abandonment rate among the assigned learners, reported by clients. The release was also a contained growth experiment, starting the restructuring efforts of the platform to increase engagement and retention with minimal disruption.

Work done:

A significant portion of my work involved interaction modeling based on learning and flow principles, which meant structuring for gradual task complexity and contextual instruction to follow growing skills. Improvements were tested through remote, unmoderated sessions in each iteration. Completion rate was tracked and analyzed, while the active community provided feedback on value communication and the accessibility of interactions. Additionally, broader feedback was gained through structured interviews, helping to generate user insight that was carried forward to support alignment between stakeholders, product teams, and engineering. This helped to connect monetization goals with feature priorities and development roadmap. The iterative, cross-functional work delivered a successful new product branch that was selected as prototype for the future restructuring of the entire platform.
