Aim: Platform Launch (MVP)
The marketplace platform was built by a seed stage company focusing on task-based gigs within niche trade ecosystems that utilized close-knit networks for traction. At that stage, the feature hierarchy and interaction strategy were largely based on informal discussions with the business owners. They had solid technical infrastructure in place, but needed to translate the goals into a lean product that the community can actively engage with. The goal wasn’t to launch with every convenience feature imaginable, but to engage fast, therefore, my main work was to define a cost-conscious, high-value first iteration, strong enough to prove the concept and test market response.

Work done:
To clarify the scope of the MVP, I synthetized the existing product materials received from the stakeholders and added further insight from competitor analysis and social listening. This helped extract the most demanded features and establish the priority of functions. Subsequently, I pinned down the brand identity and created the brand visuals based on preference research, to make sure the product meet the audience’s mental model. Followed by flashing out the main workflow and conversation points in order to create the experience of the main workflows that reflects positioning and can be taken to vendors to engage with.
