Aim: Platform Launch (MVP)

The marketplace platform was built by a seed stage company to focus on task-based gigs within niche trade ecosystems, and to utilize close-knit networks for traction. At this stage, the layout and the feature and interaction modeling were largely based on informal discussions with the business owners. They had solid technical infrastructure in place, but needed to translate the goals into a lean, high-impact product. The goal wasn’t to launch with every convenience feature imaginable, but to start strong, therefore, the next step was to define a cost-conscious, high-value first iteration, strong enough to prove the concept and market need.

Work done:

To clarify the scope of the MVP, I synthetized the current product materials and expanded the insight by conducting competitor analysis and social listening. This helped extract the most demanded features and establish the priority of functions in the planned model. Subsequently, I translated the targeted positioning into brand visuals based on preference research, to make the product presentation meet the audience’s mental model. Followed by flashing out the main workflow and conversation points in order to create a refined core experience that reflects positioning and can be taken to vendors to start populating.
